      Harpist Cliona Molins: Harp Lessons

As my backround is in education, I love to teach. I generally teach from my home at Fairlight, (close to Manly) in Sydney.

If you are a beginner you will need to start off by getting yourself a harp. If your budget is tight you may be able to hire one from Harps Australia or Hugh Jones (02) 9742 3166.

Here are the details of some of Australia's best harp makers:

      Hugh Jones (02) 9742 3166 in Sydney
Andy Rigby 03-54232848, 0400-865229 Rose's Gap, Central Victoria
      Brandden Lassells
Jacquie & Warwick Springs (Harps Australia)

I would advise beginners to go to a harp gathering where you will get to see a variety of harps being played. It is important that you love the harp you get. Talk to Rhonda at the NSW Harp Society to find out more about harp events.

Winter Harp Retreat (7-9th August 2009)

This year's workshop will be part of the Winter Harp Retreat at Karuna Sanctuary, Katoomba in the Blue Mountains.

This weekend is must for all harp players in the greater Sydney area. It is the first residential opportunity for harpers to learn together while enjoying good food and company in tranquil bush surroundings.

Cliona will join forces with Jayne Hockley to give many great sessions throughout the weekend. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn, play and jam with other harpists.

To book please download the booking form today.

Harpists from interstate are most welcome. Please contact us to arrange a pickup from the train station at Katoomba or use one of the local harps.

Friends and family of the harp community are also encouraged to join us.

For more up to date information see Harp Society of NSW or call Noni on 9653 3691.
