Can you help me choose a class for my child?
Can you help me choose a class for my child? The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling. Village________0-18mths Our Time_____18mths-3yrs Imagine That! _3-5yrs Family Time____Multiple children 0-6yrs Young Child _5-7yrs If you have concerns about your child’s success in a particular age range, we are happy to discuss your child’s needs and work with you to place him in the class best suited for him. [ top ] [ back to classes ] How much is the Kindermusik course? Prices and course length vary for the different age groups. Please note that these prices include the award-winning materials that go home with the family the first week of term. At Home Materials allow the Kindermusik experience to be continued in the home. Our Time and Imagine That! programs usually run over 2 terms (18 weeks). Use the following table to find out the enrolment fee (tuition & materials) for each class:
[ top ] [ back to classes ] What are the At Home Materials? The At Home Materials are the award winning age-appropriate learning tools that go home with each child at the beginning of the term. Kindermusik is much more than just a weekly class. Your At Home Materials are just the tools you need to continue that one-of-a-kind experience together as a family. While we plant the seeds of learning through music in the classroom, you will use the At Home Materials at home to cultivate lifelong learning. Unless
otherwise stated all At Home Materials are provided on the first day of
class as part of the enrolment fee (unless enrolment is late). Here
is a list of the contents of each package:

[ top ] [ back to classes ] When can we come to a trial class? Call Lifesong on 0402 013 449 to arrange to sit in on a class during term time. [ top ] [ back to classes ] What should I expect from a Trial Class? If you and your child are able to make it to a trial class, it is a good opportunity to meet the teacher and see her learning style. You will also see the variety of the activites in a typical kindermusik class and may get a chance to see the quality of the At Home Materials. While we will invite everyone to participate in the activities it is wise not to expect too much from your child on the first day. It is not uncommon for a child to attend for several weeks before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. [ top ] [ back to classes ]Are there any other discounts available?
[ top ] [ back to classes ] I have a second child. Do you have a discount for the Sibling? If you enrol a second child you will receive a 10% discount off the second child’s tuition only. To further reduce the cost, Sibling Kits are offered to parents with a second or third child in the same class. (Sibling Kits exclude At Home items that don’t need to be doubled up, such as a CD, or literature book.) [ top ] [ back to classes ] Can I bring my younger child to the class? If your younger child is over 6mths, it is best to book into a Family Time class as the pace of this class is designed for parents wishing to bring more than one child to class. This program is also particularly designed to encourge siblings to enjoy music together. Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings Village and Our Time classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay contented in a capsule or stroller. However, emergency situations are considered, so please call if we can help. In the first half hour of the Imagine That! class, the children attend on their own but all family members are invited into the class for the final 15 minutes of Sharing Time. What happens if we miss a class? There is no refund for a child missing a class. However a child who has missed a class due to illness may be able to get a free catch up class at a different location. If a teacher is
sick and a replacement teacher cannot be found, the class will be
rescheduled. How long do the classes go for? All classes are 45 minutes long. Do you break for school holidays? Yes. Classes do not take place on public holidays or during school holidays. [ top ] [ back to classes ]We do request that toys and juice cups be kept out of sight and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress comfortably. Are parents involved in the class? Yes, parents play an important role in any Kindermusik class. During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend for several weeks before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in the class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth. You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials. Reinforcement and enjoyment of the Kindermusik materials make all the difference to a child’s feeling of comfort and security in the classroom. The first half
hour of the Imagine That! class for 3-5 year olds, the children attend
on their own but all family members are invited into the class for the
final 15 minutes of Sharing Time. We are committed to
excellence in teaching and service at LifeSong. We ensure this by
attending available Kindermusik Professional Development Seminars and
Conferences, participating in online courses and conference phone calls
etc. as well as ongoing discussion with our colleagues. We encourage parents to communicate with the teacher after the class or by phone if there are any issues that need addressing. If, after six weeks of complete attendance at classes, use of the at home materials and after consultation with your Kindermusik Educator, your satisfaction is not what we all expected we will refund the balance of your tuition costs. The CDs books and all materials will remain yours to keep. [ top ] [ back to classes ]
Although you may join our classes at anytime, you should register early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly. Enrolling at least 3 weeks before the semester begins also ensures that we will have your child’s materials ready for the first class. Students enrolled by the Early Bird date will receive a discount. A place can be secured (and materials ordered) with a minimum deposit. The balance is required on the 3rd week of term. [If you need to pay in instalments due to difficulty paying by lump sum, then an agreed arrangement for this can be discussed.] All fee rates and payment details can be found on the enrolment form. Only cheque,
cash or electronic transfer will be accepted. Electronic transfer
